Challenge
Reading for pleasure is at an all-time low, with only 1 in 3 children saying they enjoy it. Many feel judged or pressured, which puts them off. The World Book Day 2025 brief challenged us to design a motion-based campaign that makes reading feel fun, personal and exciting again.
Goal
To create a motion graphic campaign that encourages children to “Read Your Way” by showing that books can be adventurous, fun and empowering. The campaign needed to connect with younger audiences (7–12), using bold storytelling and playful visuals to spark their imagination.
Outcome
I designed a comic-book-inspired animation with halftone textures, vibrant colours and superhero-style transformations. The story follows a clumsy boy who gains confidence and control after discovering a glowing book, reinforcing the message: “Turn the page, unlock your superpower.” The style and narrative made reading feel as exciting as a superhero origin story.
